Where Courage Meets the Fall
There is a moment before motion
when everything becomes clear—
the ground still holds beneath you,
yet the unknown is already near.
Courage does not erase the distance,
nor silence the thunder below.
It simply stands beside uncertainty
and decides it is time to go.
The water never fears the edge.
It gathers, carries, then releases—
turning height into momentum,
and hesitation into pieces.
Perhaps we are much the same.
We gather experience like a river,
carrying what shaped us along,
until remaining where we are
no longer feels quite as strong.
Then comes the edge.
Not an ending.
Not a failure of balance.
A threshold where everything held within
finally discovers movement.
And when courage meets the fall,
we do not always know where we'll land.
We only recognize that something within us
has become greater than the place where we stand.
So we release.
Not without thought,
but without demanding certainty.
Not because fear disappeared,
but because possibility became louder.
The edge becomes a beginning.
The fall becomes a flight.
And somewhere between holding on
and surrendering to the height,
we discover—
courage was never about avoiding the fall.
It was knowing when to become the motion.
