Stillness Against the Current

The water races forward,
carrying everything it can.

Sound crashes against stone.
Wind bends the trees.
Mist rises into open air,
and every direction
seems alive with motion.

Yet someone remains still.

Not resisting the river.
Not challenging its strength.
Not asking the world to slow down.

Simply present.

There is a difference
between being left behind
and choosing not to rush.

A current has its purpose.
So does a pause.

Around the stillness,
others move—

For one remarkable moment,
motion and stillness
belong to the same rhythm.

The waterfall keeps falling.
The river keeps reaching.
The people keep becoming.

The ones who remain still
discover something movement
could never show them:

the current does not always
need to carry you
for you to feel its power.

Sometimes strength is movement.

Sometimes strength
is standing within its presence
and letting everything rush past—

until stillness itself
becomes part of the current.
