What We Carry Forward
We carry forward not everything we have known,
but what experience has taught us how to become.
Some moments remain as memory.
Others become understanding,
quietly changing the way we meet what comes next.
We carry the courage discovered through uncertainty,
the clarity gathered through reflection,
and the sincerity that grows when we learn
to meet life as it is.
What once felt separate begins to move together.
Discovery becomes experience.
Experience becomes perspective.
Perspective becomes a way of living.
And still, there is room for more.
We are not finished by what we carry.
We are strengthened by knowing what belongs with us
and free enough to leave space for what has yet to emerge.
So we continue—not empty-handed,
and not burdened by everything that came before,
but carrying forward what helps us become
more present, more open, and more fully alive.
What we carry forward becomes part of what carries us forward.
